Heavy armor healer with no flaws! (2023)

If you've played fantasy RPGs or MMORPGs or even tabletop fantasy games in the past 20 to 30 years, you know that HEALER MOST type characters follow one of two different aesthetics.

They are either medium armor (Druids/Shamans) with forest/nature type spells or typical battle hardened Templar/Priest/Cleric type characters with lots of protection and heavy armor, usually with a mace and shield and sometimes a two-handed hammer. However, when dealing with War Priest type characters, healers are usually just as strong as tanks! Both side characters are the hardest to kill as they are responsible for your party's survival!

In The Elder Scrolls Online, "healers" are supposed to wear light armor. Well, that's wrong and goes against the traditional expectations of therapists in most fantasy scenarios. There is no piece of passive light armor in the game that has a feature that increases healing. The only perk that's reasonably useful is the critical chance bonus, but that's only 1% per character anyway, and it's based on dice rolls, not a purely flat bonus. If your critical chance is already low and you don't normally rely on crits (which we don't), then this doesn't really do any good. We have very low critical chance, so small bonuses don't really increase our overall abilities and will fail more often than they are useful.

However! Medium armor now has "Healing Bonus" and "Spell Damage" bonuses. Both promote healing! While this is great, where does the weight come from? Well, heavy armor improves your survivability, complements some of the high health healing abilities in the Knights Templar skill line (rune focus is more based on high health healing for example), provides resistance when hit and recovery bonuses, and most importantly . .. each piece adds an additional 4% recovery to your critical hits! That's right, 5x Heavy Armor Shards gives you 20% more BACK resources from heavy hits, making you stronger with no negative effect on healing compared to passive light armor.

Light armor has passive healing and cost reduction, but you don't want to be a healer anyway. If you understand Restoration Staff's passive abilities and use them correctly, you'll know that a critical hit with Restoration Staff will give you more healing (16% more healing). This means heavy first, then healing, resulting in stronger healing.

We don't need a lot of recovery when we attack hard, and heavy armor gives us a lot more in return! Bash means more healing and more resources. It's a win-win situation. Don't squeeze, increase healing, get resources!

All in all, the potential gains from heavy hits with heavily armored restorers are insane, even when unbalanced. While out of balance, you can recover 30% from regeneration passives, 20% from hard passives, and 50% from out of balance effects! That's a lot of very simple resource management. And if you're not using weights, you're not using your healing potential anyway and you're doing it wrong. If you want to be a strong healer with Restoration Staff, make sure your attacks are strong, otherwise you won't get the 16% increase in overall healing.

So keep it simple: lower your HOTs (heal over time abilities), use big heals when needed, and keep attacking hard! Perform overhauls all day long and you'll never run out of resources! Unlike weak healers, your survivability is so high that you don't have to backcast and block all day with trivial mechanics that usually kill you!

We also have one-handed weapons and shield weapons, meaning we have more defensive power when needed! Not to mention that while Restoration Staff has repair and other passive abilities, when we're not using Restoration Staff we have more spells on our first hand and shield bar to fill in the gaps. We have single heals and AOE heals for every situation, as well as continuous AOE heals as long as you hold them.

When things go wrong, you are so powerful that you can take a beating while lifting other people off the ground. Remember that you need to keep the field HOT while reviving people to keep the party alive while you're busy elsewhere. Depending on our class and champion points, we can pick up a body on the ground in less than 3 seconds, which is a huge advantage in an emergency.

The set we use greatly boosts party survivability, a set that stacks damage shields along the way (yes, multiple people in a party can use it at the same time to get more stacks) and just for healing we can use Weapon/spell conservation DAMAGE ENEMIES CONTINUED FALLING means so that your team takes less damage!

So if you're looking to go back to the old school of heavy armor but still be more than just a skilled healer to really rethink the proper aesthetic of fantasy, look no further because it's finally possible! Their treatment is no worse than using light armor, in fact we use both mediums and the effect is even better!

This is a full PVE version that works in everything, while actually farming loot in normal mode!

Important notes:

The new Champion Points 2.0 introduced in the Q1 2021 DLC: Fire of Ambition is probably the biggest change/addition to The Elder Scrolls Online since One Tamriel! They were further modified in the Blackwood chapter so we had a lower base to highlight some basic elements and add a few more slots!

It used to be, "I have limited CP points, how do I spend them?" It's actually not like that! Now it's all about buying everything, but which SLOTABLES should you buy?

Everything before that was a passive reward with much less rewards, cumbersome calculations and confusion for all players. The new system emphasizes no diminishing returns, no particularly confusing passives, and the ability to buy every passive available for tanking, DPS, and healing for the same character, leaving enough points to buy slots. When there are many per tree, the ability to place 4 separate slot tables from each tree means you are only limited by your capabilities, not your CP.

Buy all passive players, choose the table to take according to the situation and the remaining points. or are you Well, here's the crux of the matter... once you get past 1800 (depending on slot choices, some are more expensive in tree crafting) you basically have all available passives plus 4 slots per tree area...

If you just want to focus on combat (all red and blue passives and 4 tradeables) you really only need about 1600 CP to be fully functional in those areas. If you're using an all-glass cannon and want to focus on just one damage type, you can max out around 900 for that! While you don't get any resistance or healing bonuses from the war tree (blue), at least you can afford the villains, right? It also takes sockets into account, so even at this stage it doesn't hurt to consciously choose damage-resistant sockets.

Refueling is easier! Hit the sockets and stack your passive resistances and it's game over! The rest are just bonuses!

What's next? Well, if you have more champion points, you can buy more slots when needed and adjust accordingly. If you don't, the replacement will cost you to redesign the gold. In short: 1650-1800 (depending on the make) almost done! Everything else will come in handy because you don't have to spend gold to trade things you already have access to! How cool is that?

Regardless, these are the most important parts of the Championship Points 2.0 system. So this is your first big goal in the build process. You must use them even if they are not maxed out. However, as explained in the video, things are changing.

Blue (war) is important for resistance, healing and damage. Red (fitness) is important for resource, health and crowd control counters. Green (craft) means quality of life in the true sense of the word! (your choice, so it doesn't matter for the fight).

You can play all the content no matter what level you have, no matter what Champion Points level you have, as all players/characters base stats increase during Fire of Ambition, making lower level players/characters Base Stats more balanced.

However, as mentioned above, the slot table is your main goal. Unlocks the required passive skills to unlock slot table access (if available). Charge them up, then grab any remaining passives along the way.

300, 600, 900 champion points are no longer important as optimization checkpoints. Complete little by little, because all characters can have all passives without negative effects, unlike before!

Go for armor and health bonuses as well as high recovery. If you don't want the peace bonus, you can of course switch to Survival Instincts, but that's up to you.

For maximum healing potential, you need to make sure you have a full wizard. So you need a magic pot. However, if you have a Dragoon in your party already providing them all, you can use three pots all day and use triple the recovery resource instead of just one, and still have all the buffs you need!

Food is very basic, the highest level of food has only 2 attributes, MAX. Health and MAX. Magicka, can be consumed. The recipe has three variants, but they are all the same in a certain stat, so you can decide which one to use.

We use Ritual Mundus and have 64 attribute points in Max Magicka.

If you're very experienced and/or can sustain your resources indefinitely, you can change the Magicka Spell Damage Recovery Glyphs and get stronger healers, but you'll need a lot of critical hits to sustain them.

Remember, your healing abilities last over time. Don't spam them, your resources are more manageable.

Bash is one of the most basic abilities/mechanics in the game. Get it, use it, don't skip the basics just because the cool kids think it's "boring bro", enjoy!
