BREAKING: Armed Liberty High School student accused of threatening classmates

Benicia police arrested a 17-year-old Liberty High School student who threatened to kill a classmate Wednesday and brought a gun to school Thursday. Frank Hartig. The young man, who has not been identified, was criminally charged for terroristic threats and possession of a firearm on school premises, and misdemeanor charge for possession of a firearm with a canceled serial number. Possession of ammunition as a minor; possession of an assault weapon; possession of a concealed firearm as a minor, Hartig said.

Benicia police arrested a Benicia man in the Solano County Plaza parking lot early Monday after a police dog found drugs near the man's car. Lt. Frank Hartig said Tuesday afternoon that a search turned up drugs, weapons and a suspected incendiary device.

A man wanted by Benicia police in connection with the armed robbery of a woman and the theft of another woman's car on Thanksgiving Day killed himself early Tuesday after a lengthy standoff on Treasure Island, the San Francisco Police Department said. Duncan Phillips, 29, was the subject of a police search in Benicia after he allegedly assaulted and robbed a 52-year-old woman at her apartment in the 900 block of Southampton Road. Frank Hartig.

Suspect held in county jail for attempted police murder

A 22-year-old American Canyons man, identified as the suspect in a shootout with Benicia police Saturday afternoon, remains in custody in Fairfield's Sola after being arrested Sunday morning in Vallejo, authorities said Monday. Benicia Police assisted by Vallejo Police arrested Robert Flores Foster at 1324 East Lincoln Road in Vallejo Sunday morning. McGlynn and Solano County Jails. Foster was charged with burglary, endangering a child causing injury or death, attempted murder, carjacking, theft of stolen property and vehicle theft, according to jail records. Both are criminal offenses. While bail was set at $1,050,000 on the first three counts, Foster is being held without bail on the last three counts.

John Daley pulled over a 1994 Acura in the 900 block of Cambridge Drive around 6:24 a.m. for having an expired registration. Lack of license plates leads to arrests with weapons and drugs

A passenger in a Ford Thunderbird that lost its rear license plate was arrested Tuesday night and charged with firearms and drug charges, Benicia police Lt. Mike Daly said Wednesday. Benicia Police K-9 Officer Damiean Sylvester noticed the Thunderbird's license plate was missing and pulled the vehicle over on the eastbound ramp of Interstate 780 at East Fifth Street, Daly said. Sylvester spoke with the driver and passenger and discovered they both had prescriptions but no prescriptions, Daly said. He said the passenger was also carrying a substance police believe to be methamphetamine.

This is not "Friday the 13th", but a lone gunman wearing the mask made popular by the horror series, who entered a store in a shopping center in Southampton in earnest on Wednesday.
The attacker entered the GameStop at 821 Southampton Road at 9:54 p.m. He was wearing a white hockey mask, according to a Benicia police report. Two 14-year-old Benicia High School students were robbed at gunpoint by four teenagers Friday night after the school's homecoming game, Benicia police said Monday.
Sergeant Scott C. Przekurat, of the Division of Investigations, said the school administrator showed up shortly after the four men took the boy's wallets, cellphones and a small amount of cash, prompting the robbers to disperse.
The victim was walking on campus after the game and entered the outer hallway of the school's A wing around 11 p.m. Przekurat said the four robbers were all wearing dark sweaters or jackets, dark pants and flat baseball caps when they were approached.Read the rest of this entry"

Robert Semple Elementary School closed around 2:30 p.m. Authorities searched the area Thursday for the shooter, who is believed to be after a Benicio man and his girlfriend.
Vincent Winnie, 22, a Vallejo man, and three other people were arrested by Benicia police at the intersection of Interstate 780 and Interstate 80. They are still being sought by police.

An autopsy confirms that Benician died of a gunshot wound

Solano County Sheriff's Deputy Corey McLean said autopsies on two Benicia residents who died in an alleged murder-suicide Wednesday confirmed that Walter Little, 48, and his girlfriend, Julie Strack, 49, both died of gunshot wounds.
